I can’t believe we are in the third week of August. Summer is passing so quickly. Next week our children will be returning to school to begin the 2008–2009 school year. I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. I am speaking as though summer is over, although we have over a month of official summer left. In a parish with a school, there seems to be a more busy rhythm during the school year, from September to June. That is why, when school begins, I tend to think that summer is over. We look forward to another great school year. We ask your prayers for our principal, faculty, students and parents.

I offer another reminder about our Annual Annunciata Summer Fest. First of all pray for good weather on Aug 22 and Aug 23, the days of the Fest. The Lord seems to bless us with great weather conditions every year. We pray that this year will be no exception. The Fest Committee has worked tirelessly to plan a very attractive fest. Mark you calendars to attend some of the great events they have scheduled. Come and listen to great music, and enjoy a variety of foods and beverages, and share each other’s company. I look forward to seeing you there. I also appeal for volunteers to help with the Fest. The committee is always in need of help. Come and volunteer for an hour, an afternoon or an evening. The Fest is a major fundraiser for the parish and school.. Please come out and support it.
